Course Description

This one hour session onCyber Security is designed for business owners, CEOs, CFOs, controllers, finance managers and other decision makers. The presentation will demonstrate how hackers have learned to profit from they activities. While breaches at large companies like Target and Home Depot dominate the news, cyber security is a significant issue for the small business and coop as well. Virtualy every industry segment is affected; indeed any business that stores personal or business business financial information on the network or conducts online cash management is a potential target. Payment fraud targeting wire transfers, automatic clearing house payments and credit cards is increasing at an alarming rate. Historically, hacking has been a high risk issue only for banks, but attacker are now targeting all businesses in an effort to access bank funds via online payment methods. This CLN will describe the threat landscape, discuss regulatory efforts to address the threat, and provide insight on how manufacturers and distributors can effectively address this emerging threat.

Presenter and Moderator Bios
Mark Eich is Principal in charge of the Information Security Services Group at CliftonLarsonAllen. He has over 27 years experience in auditing and technology consulting. In this position, he has actively led many IT audits and security assessments for clients in a range of industries and with a diversity of operating environments. He leads a team of technology and industry specialists in an efficient approach to provide security analyses that are balanced with business needs. Information security assessments include network penetration services, internal network security assessments, incident response and electronic forensics services, IT audits and SSAE 16 (formerly SAS70), information security policies and procedures assessment/consulting and PCI compliance.

Delivery System

  • All programs are delivered using the Zoom platform.
  • Confirmations will include log-in instructions.
  • Participants are able to participate using any device with an Internet connect (if the device does not have speakers, the participant can also dial-in) or they can participate with audio only by dialing in.
  • All registrants will receive a link to the CLN’s recording by email within 48 business hours of event’s conclusion.
  • There will be assistance available to help with technical and connectivity issues up to 10 minutes prior to the start of the presentation.

Registration

All registration is done on-line and each guest must provide their name and email address to participate. All NSAC members may register for free. Non-members may register for a nominal fee.

Refund Policy

NSAC will not issue refunds for CLNs. If a registrant is unable to participate in the CLN and provides notification to info@nsacoop.org 48 hours prior to the session, a credit will be provided for a future CLN. Alert the NSAC staff member monitoring the CLN if technical difficulties are encountered and technical support will be provided to eliminate problems with future CLNs.

Additional Information

Live participation is required for CPE credit and polling questions must be answered to document your active participation. All registrants will receive an email following the session with links to the slides and/or handouts, and a link to the CLN recording (unless otherwise stated). If you are unable to participate in the live session, you can still watch the recorded session, but you will not be eligible for CPE credits. Those eligible for credits will receive their certificate by email with 7 business days.
